HOW DOOM FACE WORKS

Four real steps. Nothing hidden, nothing fake.

1. PICK YOUR DOOM APPS

During setup you choose which installed apps count as doomscrolling for you. TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Chrome — whatever the app you actually lose time in. Doom Face only watches the apps you pick.

2. KEEP SCROLLING

Doom Face uses Android's Accessibility service to detect genuine scroll activity in your chosen apps — not just "the app is open", actual scrolling. It never reads what's on screen: no post content, no messages, no video titles. Just the gesture.

Each session, a random threshold is picked between roughly 8 and 15 minutes. You're never told what it is, and it changes every time, so there's no way to game it.

3. GET CAUGHT

Cross the threshold and the countdown appears right over the app you're using: 2. 1. Flash. Your front camera takes exactly one photo. No retake, no preview, no chance to pose. Doom Face keeps measuring your session after the photo, too, so the app you were caught in and how long you actually stayed both get recorded.

4. JOIN THE DOOM MAP

The photo uploads automatically to the public Doom Map at an approximate location — the fuzzing happens on your own phone, before anything is sent, so Doom Face's servers never see or store your exact coordinates. One marker per person, always your latest catch.

EVIDENCE & DOOM FACE+

Every catch is saved to your own Evidence history in the app, with the real app, duration and time — that history and your Doom Count never shrink. On the free tier, only your latest photograph itself is kept; older photos get a 24-hour window before the image (not the record) is removed. Doom Face+ is a one-time purchase that keeps every photograph, permanently. See Doom Face+ →

PRIVACY, IN SHORT

You enable this behaviour deliberately during setup. Your location is fuzzed on-device before it's published. You can delete any Doom Face, any time. Full detail: Privacy Policy →
