1. WHO WE ARE
Doom Face is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME - TO BE CONFIRMED] ("we", "us"), based in the United Kingdom. These terms govern your use of the Doom Face Android app and doomface.me (together, the "Service").
2. WHAT THE SERVICE DOES
Doom Face detects prolonged scrolling in apps you choose, and when it catches you, automatically takes a front-camera photograph and publishes it to a public map with an approximate location. This is the core, deliberate function of the Service - by enabling Doom Face during setup, you are knowingly agreeing to this behaviour.
3. ELIGIBILITY
You must be at least 16 years old to use Doom Face. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.
4. YOUR CONSENT TO CAPTURE AND PUBLICATION
You explicitly enable Doom Face's capture behaviour during onboarding, and you choose which apps it monitors. Once enabled, individual catches happen automatically and without further per-catch confirmation - that unpredictability is the product. You can disable monitoring, change which apps are watched, or delete any Doom Face at any time from within the app.
5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You're responsible for your own device, for keeping your installation secure, and for how you use the Service. Don't use Doom Face to capture or publish anyone other than yourself - it is designed around candid self-capture, not photographing other people without their knowledge.
6. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to: interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; attempt to access another installation's data; use the Service to harass, impersonate, or capture anyone other than yourself; or attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or content-moderation systems.
7. THE PUBLIC DOOM MAP AND YOUR CONTENT
Doom Faces you're caught in are publicly visible on the Doom Map by design. You retain ownership of your photographs, but by using the Service you grant us the licence needed to host, store, process, and publicly display them on the Doom Map for as long as you keep them (per the retention rules in our Privacy Policy), and to remove them promptly once you delete them.
8. DELETION
You can delete any of your Doom Faces at any time from the app's Evidence screen. This is the primary way to remove your content from the Service and the public map.
9. DOOM FACE+ PURCHASES
Doom Face+ is a one-time, non-subscription purchase (not yet available at the time of writing) that changes your photo retention from "latest only" to "every photo kept". It is a lifetime entitlement tied to your Google Play purchase - there is no recurring charge. Purchases are made and processed through Google Play, and Google Play's own terms and refund policies apply to the transaction itself. We verify your purchase with Google before granting the entitlement; if Google revokes or refunds a purchase, we may revoke the entitlement accordingly, with previously-retained photos entering the normal free-tier grace period rather than being deleted instantly.
10. SERVICE AVAILABILITY
We aim to keep the Service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or modify the Service, in whole or part, for maintenance, technical, legal, or security reasons.
11. CHANGES TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS
We may update these terms or the Service itself. Material changes to these terms will update the date at the top of this page; continuing to use Doom Face after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any installation that breaches these terms, particularly the acceptable use section above.
13. DISCLAIMERS
The Service is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what's described here.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under English law (for example, liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
15. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
